The Google AI system Gemini can now also be linked to various Google apps by users in Germany. According to a blog entry from the Internet company, the new function enables Gemini to be integrated into services such as Google Maps, Google Flights, Google Hotels, YouTube, Gmail, Google Drive and Google Docs. The link allows the system to deliver relevant information directly to the chat with Gemini. Additionally, Google emphasizes that the link can be reversed at any time.

The integration of Gemini into the German market offers users new options when planning trips with friends, for example. By pre-sharing thoughts and appointments in Gmail, Gemini can use this data to display flight and hotel information and recommend YouTube videos with things to do. Gemini can also summarize the highlights and send them directly to friends in an email.

In competition with Microsoft's AI function "Co-Pilot", which also enables a link to Office documents and personal data, Google is relying on innovative functions with the Gemini extensions. The AI enhancements were originally launched in the US seven months ago. Alphabet shares temporarily fell slightly by 0.56 percent to $166.96 in NASDAQ trading.
