Major transport project in An Giang: DT 941 becomes reality!

An important infrastructure project is being pushed forward in the province of An Giang, which is intended to significantly improve traffic conditions in the region. Nguyen Thanh Cuong, deputy director of the Project Management Committee, recently announced important details about the DT 941 project, whose extended section has a total length of almost 11 kilometers. This Stage II transportation project will intersect the Long Xuyen Bypass and end at the existing DT 941. The total cost of the project is nearly VND863.7 billion, of which VND720 billion comes from the central budget and the rest is financed from the provincial budget.

A crucial step towards the realization of the project was taken with the groundbreaking ceremony for Construction and Installation Package 19, which is worth VND193 billion and requires a construction period of 540 days. The project, considered an important transport route and interregional axis, is intended not only to complete the region's transport infrastructure, but also to promote local socio-economic development. A key aim is to create new transport routes and reduce congestion to ensure better connectivity between residential areas, industrial parks and towns.

Project scope and significance

The project includes several technical elements that underline its relevance. A total of three intersections, 11 reinforced concrete bridges and 10 box culverts as well as five round reinforced concrete culverts are planned. Nguyen Thanh Cuong emphasized the importance of the project manager's responsibility and cooperation with local authorities and contractors to make the implementation of the project successful. Ngo Cong Thuc, deputy chairman of the provincial People's Committee, described the project as an important milestone that will improve traffic safety and order while reducing traffic congestion on National Road 91.

The planned route begins at the Long Xuyen bypass and ends at DT 941. The route runs through agricultural areas and the relevant authorities have already completed the clearance work. Care will also be taken to ensure accountability and transparency throughout the entire process to protect the interests of residents. Nguyen Tan Phong, deputy chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee, stressed the need to work closely with investors to resolve any problems during construction in a timely manner.

Economic prospects

Investing in infrastructure will also improve the region's economic growth. The planned route will run through the cities of Long Xuyen and An Chau as well as rural urban areas, including at least eight places where bridges and roads need to be built to connect residential areas. The provincial government's investment decision approving the project highlights the importance that economic development has for the entire province.

The project not only has a financial dimension, but also a social one: concerns about traffic safety and improving the quality of life of local residents are at the forefront. The completion of DT 941 will therefore make a decisive contribution to improving living conditions and economic prospects in this part of Vietnam.
