Among the participants were prominent figures such as Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee, and Ms. Dinh Thi Lua, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Experts, scientists and representatives from travel companies were also present, underlining the importance of the event vietnam.vn reported.

In the opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Anh Chuc highlighted the numerous advantages of Ha Nam for tourism development. The region is characterized by its favorable geographical location, rich natural resources and diverse historical and cultural relics. The tourism infrastructure that already exists and is currently being developed includes over 200 accommodations with more than 4,000 rooms as well as a total of two 5-star hotels and a soon-to-be completed high-end hotel from the BRG Group.

Growth and success in the tourism sector

The Tam Chuc tourism area, which is recognized as a national tourist area, already attracts millions of visitors. With 12 recognized tourist destinations and the development of sports tourism, especially in golf tourism, Ha Nam aims to establish itself as a leading tourist destination in Vietnam. Current statistics show that the province received nearly 6 million visitors in the first five months of 2025, and tourism revenue was around VND4,500 billion.

The region has also won several awards. During the World Travel Awards, it received the title of “World's Leading Local Cultural Destination” in 2023 and 2024, as well as the “Leading Emerging Tourist Destination of Asia” and an “Outstanding Achievement” award.

Strategies to promote tourism

The topics of the conference included the effective use of potential and strengths, the development of unique tourism products and the improvement of the investment environment. Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, in his closing speech, emphasized the importance of implementing approved plans, including the Master Plan for Tourism Development to 2030 with a vision to 2050. In addition, the mobilization of resources for infrastructure development, including transport, tourism and trade, was addressed. Digital transformation and the application of new technologies in tourism management should also play a role in the future.

A particularly important aim of the conference was to create political will to promote tourism, exploit the region's potential and stimulate investment. Tourism is expected to be one of the most important economic sectors in Ha Nam in the future.

A notable achievement Ha Nam recently celebrated is being named the World's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2023 at the World Travel Awards, an honor bestowed on the province for the first time. The region beat out nominees from other countries such as Malaysia, Albania, Nepal and Mexico. This shows the enormous potential of Ha Nam to develop spiritual, cultural, ecological and culinary tourism, such as vnexpress.net reported.

Of particular note are the spiritual sites in Ha Nam, including the Tam Chuc Pagoda, which is part of a larger complex of spiritual landscapes and is one of the largest pagodas in the world. With a pristine natural landscape, the region aims to promote Buddhist cultural values internationally.
