Hager Group invests 18 million euros: Blieskastel becomes more sustainable!
The Hager Group announced today that it is investing 18 million euros in its headquarters in Blieskastel. These significant investments focus on expanding production facilities and promoting sustainable manufacturing. The measures are part of a comprehensive strategy that is intended to increase the company's competitiveness and significantly improve its sustainability balance. CEO Sabine Busse and the chairman of the supervisory board Daniel Hager emphasized the strategic relevance of these investments.
The investments include, among other things, the inauguration of two highly automated production facilities for small circuit distributors and a new technology complex. The latter not only houses machine maintenance, but also a highly efficient refrigeration system. This refrigeration system is expected to save around 640,000 kWh of electricity and 220 tonnes of CO2 annually, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 160 households.
Sustainability and cooperation
The new systems will help reduce CO2 emissions, which are expected to be reduced by 50 percent by 2030. Prime Minister Anke Rehlinger praised the Hager Group's commitment, which is of great importance for industry in Saarland and is seen as strengthening Germany's economic recovery. The proximity of the new maintenance structures to production not only improves processes, but also promotes collaboration and efficiency within the company.
In addition to the new production facilities, which halve the production time per frame and speed up door production by 25 percent, the Hager Group has invested a total of around 500 million euros in production facilities worldwide since 2021. Of this, 67 million euros went to the Blieskastel location, where over 48 new machines and 31 technical systems were installed.
The long-term commitment
Daniel Hager emphasized the company's long-term commitment to the Blieskastel location, which can now look back on a 70-year history. Investments in innovative technologies and sustainable production methods are crucial to the Hager Group's vision in the field of electrical engineering.
With these steps, the Hager Group not only shows its willingness to further technological development, but also ensures that the location in Blieskastel continues to play a central role in the global competitive environment. She is determined to develop sustainable solutions that take into account the increasing energy requirements of production. The new infrastructure created with these investments is a concrete step towards a more sustainable and efficient future.
