Declines in heating and cooling supplies

A different development, however, can be seen in the heating and cooling supply. Here the investment volume fell by 26.1 percent to 78.2 million euros. In the previous year, expenses amounted to 105.9 million euros. These figures demonstrate a clear prioritization in the structure of investments, most of which went into technical systems and machinery. In fact, over 95.4 percent of the total investments, i.e. 666.2 million euros, went into this area.

The long-term perspective of investment activities in the energy sector in Saxony-Anhalt has shown an upward trend since 2008. Particular highlights were recorded in 2020 and 2022, with increases of 54.4 percent and 54.2 percent, respectively.
