Concert Forum Stuttgart: Cultural investments for the future!
The planned one Concert forum in Stuttgart at the Rilling area promises to become an important cultural center for the city. As part of a comprehensive cultural investment plan, this project is seen as an important contribution to city life. The urgency of the project is reflected in the statement: “Now or never”. An important concept that guides those responsible is “Kairos” from ancient Greece, which emphasizes the right time to make decisions.
The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of artistic director Markus Korselt, is planning several innovative aspects for the new concert and meeting place. A concert hall with a capacity of around 1,100 seats is planned, supplemented by a multifunctional hall for 70 people. In addition to the chamber orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra will also move into the new space, which means the concert forum could take on a central role in Stuttgart's musical life.
Artistic diversity and collaborations
The concert forum's music offering will be diverse and include genres such as classical, pop, rock, jazz and electronic. Discussions are also underway with other cultural institutions in order to enable broad cooperation. The construction is financed through private donations from the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and through city funds.
A crucial foundation for the project was laid on June 6, 2024, when the Stuttgart municipal council passed a fundamental decision with a large majority. If the approval process is carried out quickly, the concert forum could open as early as the 2027/28 season. Those responsible and supporters see the project as an opportunity for the cultural development of Stuttgart.
