Potsdam-Mittelmark district: 5,000 euros in funding for tourism!

The Potsdam-Mittelmark district will continue to invest specifically in the tourism sector in 2025. This is done as part of the “small-scale tourism measures” (KTM) program, which supports small-scale modernization and renovation measures in accommodation establishments and tourist infrastructure. The aim of this initiative is to ensure the quality of the travel regions and to promote the diversity of tourism in the region, as District Administrator Marko Köhler emphasizes.

The funding is designed for a maximum amount of 5,000 euros per year, with up to 50% of the eligible costs being covered. These financial resources are to be invested in various areas, including holiday apartments, campsites and rest areas. Since the program began in 2009, around 300 projects with a total investment volume of over 2.6 million euros have been implemented. The results are improved accommodation and satisfied guests as well as a strengthened tourism infrastructure.

The district's support also remains of great importance for aspects such as accessibility, sustainable offers and modern guest communication. Applications can be submitted at any time by email ktm@flaeming-havel.de be sent to speed up the processes. Applications can be submitted here at any time and applicants will receive a registration number. All applications will then be considered for the advisory board's decision at the next submission deadline.

Further funding opportunities

The range of funding opportunities in the district is diverse. The GLS Agriculture Future Foundation, for example, supports projects for ecological, socially sustainable land management, with the funding only benefiting non-profit organizations. Funding criteria and priorities cover various areas, including research, environmental protection and organic farming education.

The Brandenburg Nature Conservation Fund Foundation accepts project applications of up to 150,000 euros at any time, while the board of trustees decides on larger applications. The Potsdam-Mittelmark district council has also updated the guidelines for promoting climate protection measures. Applications must be submitted by February 28th of the respective year.

Funding is also provided as part of the federal program “Culture Makes You Strong,” which supports cultural education projects to promote educational equity.

With these initiatives and funding, the Potsdam-Mittelmark district aims to strengthen regional development and create attractive living, learning and travel opportunities.
