Market report: Euro STOXX 50 closes with a 1.45% loss on Tuesday

The Euro STOXX 50 ultimately ended the trading day with a decline of 1.45 percent to 4,912.13 points in STOXX trading. This led to a total market value of the index of 4.276 trillion euros. At the start of the trading day, the index showed a decline of 0.448 percent to 4,962.15 points, compared to 4,984.48 points the previous day. The low of the Euro STOXX 50 was 4,899.41 units, while the high reached 4,962.15 points.

In terms of year-to-date developments, the Euro STOXX 50 has recorded an increase of 8.85 percent since the beginning of 2024. The index's annual high is 5,121.71 points, while the annual low was recorded at 4,380.97 points. In the list of top flop stocks in the Euro STOXX 50, the strongest individual stocks include Ferrari, SAP SE, Infineon, adidas and Enel. On the other hand, companies such as BMW, Intesa Sanpaolo, Stellantis, BASF and Deutsche Börse recorded the biggest losses in the index.

Volkswagen (VW) vz stock has the lowest price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 3.92 among Euro STOXX 50 stocks this year, according to FactSet estimates. Intesa Sanpaolo shares are expected to have the strongest dividend yield of 9.94 percent compared to other competitors in the index.
