Modern rural development: Hoa Son meets 13 of 19 goals by 2025!

As of June 5, 2025, the province made significant progress in implementing the National New Rural Development Target Program (NTM). Local authorities have developed comprehensive solutions, mechanisms and guidelines for effective management. This reflects the close cooperation between different departments and organizations that have already developed specific documents to meet the established criteria and goals. One focus is on the special resolutions and action programs for the development of new rural areas at district and municipal level.

In order to achieve the annual social and economic development goals, municipalities have introduced their own mechanisms. These measures aim to accelerate the implementation of the NTM program. For example, in Hoa Son Municipality, 100% of the roads have been paved and concreted, which has significantly improved the quality of life for residents. These local residents have actively contributed to the infrastructure by donating money, land and labor. The municipality has now already met 13 of 19 criteria for advanced NTM and aims to achieve all criteria by 2025.

Infrastructure and social development

Significant progress has already been made in the Krong Bong district, with a total length of 112.5 km of municipal roads and 97.9 km of village roads being concreted. 9 out of 12 communities in the district also meet over 75% of the traffic criteria. To improve agricultural conditions, the irrigation system was modernized and 880 irrigation systems with a total capacity of about 800 million m³ were implemented. In 2024, another 89 irrigation projects are planned with an impressive investment of over VND 1,443 billion.

In addition, investments in electricity, schools and health centers will continue to modernize rural infrastructure. The Ministry of Health has invested over VND92 billion in renovation and modernization as part of these measures. The province is also working on finalizing documents for new markets, with nine markets already converted to new models. More than VND 9 billion is planned for market investment projects by 2025.

Networking and European development approaches

The European CAP network plays an important role in connecting national CAP networks as well as organizations and administrations within the European Union. This network promotes the exchange of best practices on the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) between different stakeholders, including public authorities and agricultural producers. Initiatives as part of the LEADER approach enable local action groups (LAGs) to develop their own development strategies and implement projects for economic, cultural and social development in rural areas.

At European level, rural development measures contribute to achieving the Commission's priorities, such as the European Green Deal. They aim to support the competitiveness of European farmers and address current and future challenges, such as climate change.
