NASDAQ Composite in the red: down 2.05 percent
The NASDAQ Composite ended Friday's session in the red, closing 2.05 percent weaker at 15,282.01 points in NASDAQ trading. The index opened at 15,547.10 points, 0.349 percent below its closing price from the previous day. The daily low of the NASDAQ Composite was 15,222.78 units, while the high was reached at 15,576.70 points.
On a weekly basis, the NASDAQ Composite recorded a decline of 6.11 percent. A month ago the index was valued at 16,166.79 points. Three months ago the value was 15,310.97 points, while a year ago it was valued at 12,157.23 points. Since the beginning of 2024, the NASDAQ Composite has risen by 3.50 percent with an annual high of 16,538.86 points and an annual low of 14,477.57 points.
The strongest individual stocks in the NASDAQ Composite include Cumulus Media A, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Landec, Fifth Third Bancorp and Sangamo Therapeutics. The losers, however, were Cutera, NVIDIA, Integra LifeSciences, Netflix and Harvard Bioscience. Apple has the highest trading volume within the NASDAQ Composite, while Microsoft has the largest market capitalization.
The NASDAQ Composite stocks have different metrics, with Bed Bath Beyond stock having the lowest price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio. Comtech Telecommunications stock is expected to have the highest dividend yield in the index, according to FactSet estimates.
