Plug Power share: Experts see 171 percent price potential - but investors should stay away from it

According to a report by www.boerse-online.de,
Plug Power shares have lost more than half of their value since the beginning of the year and are now trading at just 2.20 euros. Nevertheless, the analysts now see 171 percent price potential for the stock. But should investors really dare to buy here?

Plug Power's stock market story is a story full of great but now dashed hopes. Management's promises and prospects had been very full-bodied in the past, and some analysts' forecasts were even more exuberant. The bottom line, however, is that little of this has come true, as Plug Power has never been able to report a profit due to low sales and poor margins. The lack of profitability in particular has weighed heavily on the stock in the past and only led to another massive capital increase in January. If this had not happened, Plug Power would have had to file for bankruptcy in March 2025 at the latest.

But even if new capital is available at Plug Power, the company's profitability is still a long way off. According to analyst estimates, the P&L will remain in the red for at least three years, which significantly increases the likelihood of a further capital increase. In addition, when looking at the chart, the share shows a real picture of horror. Apparently without even attempting to bottom out, the price is trending lower and lower and falling unhindered, without any real support.

Accordingly, no matter how great the optimism of analysts who see a price potential of 171 percent for the value, investors should stay away from buying the stock.

The company is facing major challenges that have a direct impact on the value of the share and also on investors. A further capital increase could put further pressure on the share price, while the lack of profitability and uncertainties surrounding the company's future could deter potential investors. Despite the high price potential, investors should be careful and consider long-term risks such as bankruptcy or a total loss.
