Rolls-Royce Power Systems is creating hundreds of new jobs in Germany!
Rolls-Royce Power Systems (RRPS) recorded impressive sales growth of 20 percent in the first half of 2025, increasing sales to 2.4 billion euros. This is the result of a strategic focus on attractive growth segments such as energy supply for data centers and government business, both in the military and civil sectors. Special orders, including the largest order for battery storage systems (BESS) for a Lithuanian energy supplier and an extension of the framework agreement with Italian yacht manufacturer Sanlorenzo, also contributed to growth. MTU Solutions reports that the adjusted operating result has also reached a new high with an increase of 89 percent to 371 million euros.
In order to meet existing and future requirements, RRPS plans to create hundreds of new positions both in Germany and internationally. Open positions can be found at the headquarters in Friedrichshafen as well as in the German plants in Magdeburg, Augsburg and Ruhstorf. New jobs are also to be created in the US plants in Aiken and Mankato. With more than 10,500 employees in 2025, the company is consolidating its position as a major employer in the mechanical engineering industry in Germany. Mercury reports that the company is also investing in new engine technologies and expanding its factories.
Investments and expansion
RRPS's extensive investments in new engine platforms are aimed at developing products with higher power density, lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Of particular note is the planned commissioning of a new mtu Series 4000 assembly line in Friedrichshafen by mid-2026. These expansions are part of a broader plan that also includes a $100 million investment in the Aiken and Mankato plants.
CEO Dr. Jörg Stratmann highlights the company's strategic orientation and innovative strength. This is reflected not only in the sales and profit figures, but also in a record level of orders on hand. RRPS records 100 percent order coverage for 2023 and 43 percent for 2026, highlighting the high demand for products and services in the current market environment.
In summary, the positive development of Rolls-Royce Power Systems shows strong confidence in the future market development and the company's performance. The clear growth strategies and extensive investments position RRPS as a key player in the engine industry, generating significant momentum at both national and international levels.
