Sebastian Rau in conversation: Stock strategy and investment mistakes
Sebastian Rau, co-founder of Finanzwissen.de, is the proud owner of a six-figure portfolio at the age of 31. With insight into his investment strategy, he reveals how he built his portfolio. Rau started investing in 2017 and quickly decided on a dividend strategy. He places particular emphasis on companies that both pay dividends and offer potential for growth. Reinvesting dividends is part of his strategy, as is adding real estate investments to his portfolio to increase monthly cash flow.
Despite his successful journey in the financial world, Rau admits that not everything went smoothly. With a tear in his eye, he remembers previous investment mistakes, such as the loss of around 20,000 euros by the Wirecard company. Nevertheless, he has learned from his mistakes and continues to rely on his proven strategy. In addition to his real estate holdings, Rau relies on individual stocks and an ETF in his 150,000 euro portfolio.
Rau invests considerable sums in his portfolio every month, relying on the reinvestment of dividends. Although this is not always a tax advantage, he appreciates the companies' profit sharing. By diversifying his portfolio, he currently holds around 42 stock positions, with his largest stocks playing an important role in his investment approach. With a clear focus on long-term growth and regular cash flows, Sebastian Rau is optimistic about the future of his portfolio.
