Digital social security: Vietnamese benefit from new banking offers!

Vietnamese citizens can now register for social security benefits through the new VNeID application. This digital solution allows people to link their accounts easily and securely. Registration takes place via an account opened at a bank. The steps are clearly defined: First, the VNeID application must be accessed. Users then select the “Social Security” and “Social Security Account” options. After entering the passcode, bank details, including bank account number, must then be provided. For those who do not yet have a bank account, the option of the banking application is available, which can be downloaded.

The linking of social security accounts to the VNeID application was realized by banks in collaboration with Napas and the Ministry of Public Security. The goal of this initiative is to ensure that 100% of Vietnamese have social security accounts by 2025. This project is intended not only to increase transparency, but also to help prevent fraud.

Bank offers for account linking

Some banks offer attractive gifts for linking accounts to the VNeID application. For example, Techcombank guarantees VND 100,000 for new accounts opened between September 1st and 25th, 2025. Additionally, MSB customers will receive 100,000 VND from the government and another 80,000 VND from the MSB for linking their accounts. In addition, MSB customers can receive 80,000 M-Points if account linking is successful. Other banks such as TPBank, HD Bank, VietinBank and BIDV also offer similar programs to encourage the use of the VNeID application.

In addition, according to Decree 69/2024/ND-CP, all companies in Vietnam must set up electronic identification (eID) through the VNeID platform. This is a significant advancement in Vietnam's digital transformation, aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and increasing transparency. The implementation of eID is supported by a comprehensive policy from Acclime Vietnam. Comprehensive support for companies

The eID Implementation Guideline provides a step-by-step registration process for organizational eID via the VNeID app. Key components of the policy are the eligibility criteria for legal representatives and detailed instructions for entering company information. It also describes functions after registration, such as managing members and authorizing transactions. Businesses can expect standard issuance within three business days and there are no registration or usage fees for eligible businesses.
