SV Esting relies on professional staff: contribution increase from July!

SV Esting (SVE) in Olching, the city's largest sports club and one of the most important in Upper Bavaria, is facing challenges due to rising costs. At the general meeting that took place on May 27, 2025, chairman Tilmann Brenner reported difficulties in recruiting volunteers. The association is currently experiencing an increase in membership and now has 4,300 members, including 1,500 children and young people. In order to manage ongoing operations and the increasing financial burdens, the SVE plans to hire full-time staff, which will, however, entail additional costs. Despite a positive balance sheet result that exceeds the million mark for income and expenses, major investments in renovations and new equipment are currently not possible, as managing director Hermann Glas explained.

An increase in contributions was also decided at the meeting. From July, adult members will have to pay 2.50 euros more per month to take account of the increased costs. This decision was overwhelmingly approved. Ingrid Jaschke, the third mayor of Olching, confirmed the need for construction work, but was unable to make any concrete promises of support. Furthermore, the cashier position in the club remains unfilled, but will be managed by full-time accounting staff and a tax advisor.

Sporting diversity and member engagement

SV Esting currently offers over 360 sports lessons per week, led by almost 250 instructors. The club invites its members to use the extensive sports facilities, which include, among other things, gymnastics rooms, a fitness studio and outdoor sports facilities. Members can easily manage their accounts via the new KURABU app or website. The SVE also organizes numerous leisure activities, including holiday programs with care offers and games, sports and fun days, which take place (almost) on all holidays. A highlight of the summer holiday program will be a two-week holiday program in Inzell.

The club remains active in promoting young talent. The Estinger youth club championship took place on May 18, 2025, in which 57 participants took part in a newly introduced additional league. The SVE also took part in the Neuaubinger May tournament at the beginning of May 2025 in the QTTR league up to 900 points, which underlines the sporting diversity and commitment of the club.

Long-standing members were also honored at the general meeting, including Otto Boos, Bianca Mato Fernandez and Sonja Zickmantel, who were awarded the club's golden pin and a certificate of honor for 50 years of membership. The deputy chairwoman Gabriele Waßmuth and the secretary Monika Güntner were confirmed in their positions without any dissenting votes, thus demonstrating the members' trust in the association's management.

Despite the challenges, SV Esting remains optimistic and relies on a committed community to continue to actively shape the club's future. Further information about sports and leisure activities can be found on the club's official website, which also offers the option of online membership.

These developments and decisions have been comprehensively documented by Mercury and Svesting.
