Tiwag lowers electricity prices to record levels – a win for households!

Tiwag, Tyrol's largest energy supplier, is in a strong position in 2025. The company offers the cheapest electricity price of all state energy suppliers. The tariff is currently 9.8 cents per kWh net, which is 32% below the price of major competitors. As a result, households in Bavaria pay an average of up to 124 euros more per year for their electricity and the electricity bill in South Tyrol is also up to a third higher.

The consolidated earnings before taxes (EBIT) for the 2024 financial year amount to an impressive 346.8 million euros, while sales in the same period are 1.978 billion euros. Tiwag is planning record investments of 520 million euros for 2025, which should total 2.4 billion euros by 2029. These funds are intended for power plant projects, network modernization, district heating, e-mobility and photovoltaics.

Leadership team and corporate development

An important leadership change is also imminent: Michael Kraxner will become the new CEO and will take up his position on April 1, 2025. He takes over the business from Erich Entstrasser, who is leaving the company after ten years. The new management team also consists of Thomas Gasser for sales and Alexander Speckle for construction. The mandates of the supervisory boards were also extended, indicating continued stability in corporate governance.

In addition, expenses for taxes on income and earnings are recorded at 83 million euros. The dividend to the owner is 110 million euros, including the stake in Verbund AG. These figures not only illustrate Tiwag's current economic strength, but also show the company's strategic focus on a sustainable future in the field of energy supply.
