US bond prices stable: Experts do not expect any interest rate cuts

On Tuesday, US bonds started trading with little change. The 10-year bond futures contract fell slightly by 0.06 percent to 107.83 points, while the 10-year Treasury yield was 4.65 percent. Despite surprisingly strong data on sales development in retail, experts at Dekabank are not speculating about an imminent interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve. The current economic data seems to make a rate cut in June unlikely.

New weaker-than-expected housing market data failed to impact returns on the US bond market. Investors are eagerly awaiting statements from US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell later in the evening that could potentially provide new impetus to the market. Despite the weaker real estate data, market sentiment remains wait-and-see as potential statements from Powell could have a significant impact on further developments.
