On June 19, 2025, the fourth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF) took place in Uzbekistan, which saw an impressive participation of over 8,000 participants from 97 countries. Those present included heads of government, investors and representatives of international organizations. Discussions at the forum centered on the economic future of Uzbekistan and Central Asia, while agreements worth a total of $30.5 billion were signed. These agreements are not only quantitative, but also represent a qualitative change in the global perception of Uzbekistan and the entire region, such as Table.Media reported.
The TIIF was organized by the Uzbekistan Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT) in collaboration with key partners such as Uzum, ACWA Power and KOC Construction. The forum was held from June 10 to 12, 2025 at the Central Asian Expo (CAEx) and aimed to attract global investors and policymakers. Investment growth
Uzbekistan is currently experiencing a surge in foreign direct investment (FDI), particularly in the energy and technology sectors. The innovation-driven initiatives show that the country is developing dynamically. Uzum, considered Uzbekistan's first IT unicorn, focuses on e-commerce and fintech solutions. Additionally, ACWA Power has committed $3 billion worth of renewable energy projects, helping to increase the country's energy independence.
Infrastructure development is driven by KOC Construction, while general partners such as Vision Invest and OTP Group focus on infrastructure and financial services. Other notable partners include TBC Uzbekistan in digital banking and DataVolt, which specializes in data centers.
Media coverage and global attention
The TIIF also gained international attention as global media outlets such as CNN covered the event, highlighting the investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. With a total of 15 different partners, including multinational companies and local companies, the forum will become an important platform for exchange between investors and the Uzbek government.
Overall, the event reflects Uzbekistan's ambitious goals to position itself as a stable economic partner in the international arena while making significant progress in the region's economic development.
