Varta: Annual report will come later - shares react positively
Varta recently announced that due to a cyber attack in February, the annual figures for 2023 cannot be presented as scheduled by the end of April. This resulted in the company temporarily losing its place in the SDAX. Investors have been in a period of uncertainty and speculation about the company's future since this announcement.
However, in a slight change for the better, Varta announced that the annual report will now be presented on June 28th. Despite this information, a new date for the general meeting, which was planned for the end of May, remained open. Investors reacted positively to this news, resulting in a 7.1 percent increase in Varta shares, bringing the price to 9.10 euros.
Although this announcement brought some relief, share price losses of over 50 percent since the beginning of the year have persisted. Varta's future remains uncertain, and the company itself has warned that previous turnaround efforts may not deliver the desired results. Shareholders are longing for clarity and stability, which are not yet in sight.
It remains to be seen whether Varta can find a solution to overcome the current difficulties by the middle of the current year. Uncertainty about the company's future remains, and it will take more than just preliminary announcements to regain investor confidence. The development of Varta will therefore continue to be monitored with great excitement and caution.
