Coinbase Adds Controversial 'Intel-to-Earn' Altcoin Project to Trading Plan
Coinbase has added a controversial crypto project called Arkham (ARKM) to its inclusion roadmap. Arkham is an information exchange that allows buyers to offer rewards for specific information. Buyers have exclusive access to the purchased information for 90 days, after which the data will be made available to all users. The project has its own token, ARKM, which began trading on Binance Launchpad in July last year and received investment from Binance Labs in November.
However, the de-anonymizing nature of the project has caused controversy in the crypto community. Some developers accused Arkham of being a “snitch-to-earn” or “dox-to-earn” service. Arkham has denied these allegations in a statement, emphasizing that they do not allow customers to purchase personal information off-chain through their exchange. The purpose of the platform is to research market activity and identify attempted fraud.
ARKM is currently trading at $2.53. The cryptocurrency ranks 171st in terms of market capitalization and has lost more than 3% of its value in the last 24 hours.
Coinbase has created its 2022 adoption roadmap to increase transparency and reduce the ability of investors to take advantage of early trading support.
