Ethereum Comeback: Wall Street vs. Main Street – Invest Now!

In the “Everything on Stocks” podcast, published on May 31, 2025, Jan Beckers, an experienced tech fund manager, and the moderators discussed current trends in cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence. A central theme has been the potential comeback of Ethereum, which has come into increased focus in recent weeks, particularly due to market developments and activities of large investors, also known as “whales”.

Beckers discussed what the upcoming November 2026 means for the markets and provided insight into his views on Siri and Robinhood. In addition to the Ethereum comeback, he also looked at the miner stocks that many investors have forgotten and its strategy method for investors. The podcast also offers the opportunity to give feedback via email aaa@welt.de and is available on both WELTplus and Apple Podcasts.

Dynamics in the Ethereum market

Recent data shows that activity in the Ethereum market is increasing, partly due to significant purchases by whales. In just two weeks, these large investors have acquired a total of 330,000 Ether for over $1 billion. These massive purchases could have the potential to increase the price of Ether by 66%, similar to what has been seen in the past when comparisons are made to previous purchases. Additionally, daily active Ethereum addresses are showing an increase, indicating that fresh capital is flowing into the network.

Still, interest from smaller retail investors is declining, with trading volume down 84% compared to 2021. However, analysts are observing bullish patterns on Ethereum charts, including an inverse head-and-shoulders formation. A break above the $4,100 resistance could result in a price hike up to $5,000.

Etherealize and institutional interest

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is currently investing in a startup called Etherealize that aims to make Ethereum more attractive to financial institutions. This company is led by Vivek Raman and focuses on tokenization and making Ethereum more bank-friendly. Since November 2024, Ethereum ETFs have recorded $2.7 billion in revenue, indicating growing institutional interest.

Still, Ethereum faces an increasingly competitive environment, especially with faster blockchains like Solana, causing it to lose some market share. Buterin has recognized the need for improvements within the Ethereum Foundation to address these challenges. Experts expect the real estate market to become more active by 2025, with significant developments on the horizon.

Overall, the discussion in the podcast and the current market changes show that, despite the challenges, there is an exciting time ahead for Ethereum and the crypto world. Beckers' assessments and market movements could indicate that both Wall Street and Main Street are becoming more interested in Ethereum again.
