Justin Sun, the crypto billionaire and founder of Tron, received a luxury watch at Donald Trump's meme coin dinner. The event took place last week at the President's Golf Club in Washington, D.C. took place and attracted 220 people who own the most Trump coins. Sun is the largest holder of Trump coins according to a recent ranking and received a Trump tourbillon watch with a retail price of 100,000 US dollars (approx. 92,000 euros).

The watch is part of Trump's private business project that will continue during a possible second term. The top 25 meme coin holders, including Sun, had access to an exclusive reception with Trump, where he spoke from behind presidential lecterns.

Sun and the Trump Coins

Justin Sun expressed his appreciation for the Trump administration in a video and highlighted its positive influence on the crypto industry. According to reports, Sun's wallet has over 1.5 million TRUMP tokens, valued at nearly $20 million. The wallet received 800,000 TRUMP tokens when it launched in January and purchased an additional 359,000 tokens between April 23 and May 12.

With assets of around 8.5 billion dollars (approx. 7.8 billion euros), Sun also invested 75 million dollars (approx. 69 million euros) in the crypto company World Liberty Financial, which has connections to Trump. However, the White House distanced itself from the dinner, which took place at a private golf club.

Criticism and controversy

The invitation to the gala dinner drew criticism as Democratic senators expressed concerns about possible pay-to-play corruption. Sun was mentioned in a letter from House Democrats requesting access to suspicious activity related to Trump's crypto efforts.

Despite the controversy, neither Sun nor the Trump Organization appear concerned. On social media, Sun shared photos from a recent event with Eric Trump, indicating his confident demeanor. However, Business Insider's queries to Sun's team and the Trump Organization went unanswered.
