Revolut appoints Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgie as Western Europe boss!
On June 26, 2025, Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgie was appointed as the new CEO for Western Europe at Revolut. This appointment underlines the fintech company's ambition to further expand its leadership position in digital financial services. Revolut, founded in 2015 as a challenger bank, has evolved over a decade into a digital universal bank that now has over 60 million customers worldwide.
The company originated as a money transfer app and initially stood out for its low exchange fees. Since then, Revolut has significantly expanded its product portfolio and geographic footprint. The bank does not offer physical branches, but uses its own ATMs and is internally referred to as a “super app” rather than a “universal bank”. This platform bundles numerous functions that go far beyond traditional banking services, including insurance and travel bookings.
Strategic direction and investments
Revolut has a clear strategy: Founder Nik Storonsky aims to position the company as a global, borderless bank. A central element of this strategy is the planned application for a banking license in France. In this context, over one billion euros will be invested to create 200 new jobs. France represents Revolut's largest EU market with over 5 million customers.
The variety of services includes personal, savings and business accounts, multi-currency accounts as well as national and international payment services. Revolut also offers investment options in stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, precious metals and raw materials. Loans are already available while the mortgage business is in the development phase.
Experiences of the new CEO and future prospects
Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgie brings extensive experience from her previous career. She has worked at McKinsey, the French Ministry of Finance and BNP Paribas, among others, where she held various leadership positions including COO of Retail Banking and CEO of Retail Investors. Despite her new role, she remains an independent director of Peugeot Invest.
With her knowledge and expertise, Cossa-Dumurgie will make a decisive contribution to the further development of the platform. Revolut's continued expansion in over 35 countries and the continued rapid introduction of new features demonstrate the dynamism and innovative spirit of the company, which now has 1 million customers in Switzerland.
These developments show that Revolut is not only a significant player in the challenger banking market, but is also shaping the competitive landscape through its flexible approach to obtaining a banking license and the use of an e-money license in different countries.
