Strategy is buying Bitcoin like never before – is the next all-time high imminent?

Strategy, the company of well-known Bitcoin investor Michael Saylor, has once again invested in the cryptocurrency. On May 26, 2025, the company purchased a total of 4,020 BTC worth approximately $427.1 million. The average price per Bitcoin when purchased was $106,237, resulting in Strategy's total holdings now being 580,250 BTC. This represents almost 3 percent of the total Bitcoin supply. With these purchases, the company continued its aggressive accumulation of Bitcoin, which had already begun in May btc-echo.de reported.

The total cost of all of Strategy's Bitcoin investments is approximately $40.61 billion. The average purchase price across all investments is $69,979. Despite the high investment costs, the company currently reports paper profits of $22.7 billion. These recent purchases were funded with proceeds from the sale of Class A Common Stock (MSTR), as well as Perpetual Strike Preferred Stock (STRK) and Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock (STRF). Between May 19 and May 23, 847,000 MSTR shares were sold, generating net proceeds of $348.7 million. In addition, there are proceeds of less than $80 million from the sales of STRK and STRF.

Market development and forecasts

Bitcoin trading is currently showing a price of around $110,000. Last week, Bitcoin even reached a new record high of over $111,000. This price development has led investors to speculate about possible further price increases, particularly due to changes in US tariffs on goods from the EU. Michael Saylor hinted in a recent interview that further Bitcoin purchases are planned. He emphasizes that he only buys Bitcoin with capital that he would not mind losing.

Saylor's strategy is viewed by many as risky but potentially lucrative. A crypto whale recently made a $1.2 billion bet on Bitcoin with 40x leverage. In the crypto community, it is recommended to hold Bitcoin directly instead of purchasing shares of Strategy, like THE SHAREHOLDER determines.

Overall, it appears that Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, continues to take an aggressive stance on Bitcoin while the market is in an exciting period of price discovery.
