Superheroes in Transition: Bucky and the New Avengers Era!

A new Superman film will be released by DC Studios and Warner Bros. in June 2023, ushering in an exciting era for the two companies. Crypto, Clark Kent's loyal dog, is prominently featured in the marketing materials. Crypto is described as powerful and reliable, and online reactions to its appearance and behavior are overwhelmingly positive. While fans are looking forward to the Superman movie, the Marvel world is preparing for the return of Bucky Barnes, who plays a crucial role in Thunderbolts.

Bucky, played by Sebastian Stan, is part of a new team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that challenges the dynamic of the original Avengers. When introducing his character development, the loving references to Alpine, a newly introduced cat character, were also highlighted. Alpine, portrayed as a normal cat in the comics, contrasts with Krypto and could serve as an interesting companion for Bucky in the films. Alpine first debuted in the Winter Soldier comic, providing a source of affection for Bucky as he struggles with trust.

The new Avengers

The film “Thunderbolts” promises viewers an emotional story in which unexpected heroes work together. At the end of the film, a surprising revelation occurs: the team is not actually referred to as the “Thunderbolts,” but rather as the “New Avengers.” Marvel has already started replacing some of the original Thunderbolts posters with new ones that mention the actual name. Sebastian Stan plays an integral role in the promotion of the New Avengers.

In a press conference, Valentina explains that the team operates under the name New Avengers, but this is not without hurdles. There are legal issues with the name “Avengers” as Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, holds the rights to the name and has sued the team for copyright infringement. Bucky tries in vain to convince Sam to release the name, and the team continues to search for an official designation.

Members of the New Avengers

The New Avengers team, led by Bucky Barnes, consists of the following members:

  • Yelena Belova
  • John Walker (U.S. Agent)
  • Ava Starr (Ghost)
  • Alexei Shostakov (Red Guardian)
  • Bob Reynolds (Sentry) – nutzt vorerst seine Kräfte nicht vollumfänglich

The film “Thunderbolts,” which is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025 and has a running time of 127 minutes, is directed by Jake Schreier and written by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo. In addition to the tension surrounding the naming and team dynamics, the introduction of Alpine, Bucky's pet, could add a humorous dimension and strengthen team relationships. The combination of the strong personalities of the New Avengers and the charming Alpine kitten promises both emotional and funny moments.

In the future, not only moviegoers but also fans will be excited to see what direction the stories about the New Avengers and their animal companions will take. More information can already be found on social media as fans look forward to the Superman film and at the same time are curious about developments in the Marvel universe.
