Vivid, a fintech company founded in Berlin, has recently undergone an important development in the regulated cryptocurrency space. Obtaining the MiCAR (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) license enables Vivid to offer regulated crypto services in all 27 member states of the European Union. The MiCAR Regulation, which will come into full force from the end of 2024, aims to create clear rules for digital asset providers in the EU. Expansion to Germany, France and the Netherlands
To date, Vivid's crypto offering has only been limited to Spain and Italy. With the new license, the company plans to expand its services in other important markets such as Germany, France and the Netherlands from July 2025. In this context, co-founder Alexander Emeshev emphasizes that the license aims to build long-term trust among customers and position Vivid as a reliable partner for private and business customers.
Vivid allows trading in more than 300 cryptocurrencies through its app. The assets are secured by an external, insured custodian. Another advantage for users: The sales proceeds are transferred directly to the linked cash account, which guarantees quick availability of funds.
New services for companies
Since the beginning of 2024, Vivid has also introduced a crypto income account for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). These business customers can generate digital income through staking, with no minimum term or lock-up periods. Vivid has acquired around 30,000 new business customers in the last twelve months. To further diversify the offerings, new products have been developed, including a digital travel expense tool, a cashback function for the self-employed and business loans in cooperation with Banxware, with the aim of enabling SMEs to easily conduct their banking transactions and invest in digital assets.
Emeshev also highlights the security, transparency and integrity aspects of Vivid's crypto services and emphasizes that the company is one of the few European providers approved under the new EU-wide regulatory framework. Other companies such as BitGo Europe GmbH have also recently received a MiCA license, underlining the trend towards regulation in the crypto sector.
