Cyber attacks on consumer advice center Frankfurt: Server hacked!
In the early hours of the morning, the servers of the Hesse Consumer Center (VZH) were attacked by hackers, which led to the data being encrypted. This incident has resulted in the consumer advice center being temporarily unavailable via email. Despite this restriction, the headquarters can still be reached via telephone (069/972010-900) and its website verbraucherzentrale-hessen.de, and planned consultations can take place as usual.
It is unclear whether data was leaked during the attack as both the server and backup systems were affected. However, the consumer advice centers remain open and a tip from the hackers has been received, but has not yet been opened on the advice of the police. Decryption and other measures should be carried out in collaboration with IT security experts to ensure the security of the data.
