According to a report by www.mdr.de,
The Saxony Consumer Center has processed a large number of applications for hardship assistance in connection with heating costs and found that many consumers have difficulties collecting all the necessary documents for the application. Households that do not automatically benefit from the gas and electricity price cap and can therefore apply for hardship assistance are particularly affected.
According to a report from the Saxony Consumer Center, around 7,000 applications have so far been received by the Sächsische Aufbaubank - Förderbank (SAB), around half of which have been approved. Most applications were for heating oil (80 percent), followed by wood pellets (almost 13 percent) and liquid gas (around 7 percent).
The Saxony Consumer Center has set up a special hotline since May 17th to help households who can apply for hardship assistance with their application. Anyone interested can make appointments for an initial consultation free of charge at the consumer advice center's 18 advice centers. Various documents must be presented, including your identity card, invoices from suppliers, bank statements, the fireplace permit and information on living space.
This development may have an impact on the market for heating oil, wood pellets and liquid gas in Saxony, as the demand for hardship aid could result in an increase in demand for these energy sources. Consumers who have difficulty collecting the necessary documents to apply for hardship assistance could benefit from advice and support from the consumer advice center. This could lead to increased use of hardship assistance and thus reduce the financial burden on households with high heating costs.
