How to get through the energy crisis and inflation, how best to save money for old age? The Saxons are struggling with many questions. No wonder that consumer advice centers are often fully booked. However, it is usually a long way from the country to the consumer protection advice office in the district towns. Now three small buses are intended to help shorten journeys.

The consumer advocates in Saxony have introduced three mobile advice buses to answer financial, care and pension questions from rural consumers. These buses serve a total of 34 locations in the regions of East Saxony, Erzgebirge, Vogtland and Central Saxony. The initiators emphasize that the advice on the buses is just as comprehensive as in the on-site advice centers. In addition, if you have specific questions, larger consumer advice centers can be contacted via video chat. Including the advisory buses, a total of 3.5 million euros in funding was made available for the consumer advice centers, of which 253,000 euros were used for the advisory buses. The cost of a consultation varies depending on the topic and lasts, for example, 15 euros for half an hour of financial or legal advice.

The introduction of these advisory buses has the potential to improve consumer advisory services in rural areas and provide citizens with easier access to important information. The applied promotion and facilitation of access to consumer advice services can be expected to have a positive impact on consumers' trust in the market and their financial security.
