According to a report by www.presseportal.de, telecommunications providers inform their customers annually about the best tariff for them in accordance with the Telecommunications Act (TKG). However, these recommendations are based exclusively on the provider's tariff portfolio and do not take into account the individual consumption of data volume or telephone minutes. According to Burak Tergek, an expert in telecommunications law at the NRW consumer advice center, consumers should therefore independently look for contracts with better conditions and under no circumstances terminate their existing contract prematurely.

This approach by telecommunications providers can lead to inadequate information for consumers. This could result in customers unknowingly entering into contracts that do not meet their individual needs. This could also lead to consumers missing out on potentially cheaper offers and promotions from other providers. This has a direct impact on the consumer market as customers may not receive the best rates for them and therefore suffer financial disadvantages.
