This location-independent consumer advice service is intended to offer people in the Kleve district easier access to tailored information and legal representation. The model of mobile-digital consumer advice was made possible by the Kleve district covering the costs until December 31, 2023. Starting in January 2024, the district and the state will share funding. The aim is to offer comprehensive and cross-topic consumer advice in North Rhine-Westphalia in order to give people help and security in everyday consumer life.
The introduction of this consumer advice is particularly relevant given current challenges such as energy issues and persistent inflation. The high number of inquiries that have been received for months shows the need for independent information and advice. The innovative model of mobile-digital consumer advice has been successfully implemented and scientifically supported in the Höxter district since mid-2021.
According to District Administrator Gerwers, the new offer offers added value for the population as it creates easy access to unbureaucratic and competent help from the consumer advice center. The consumer advice center in the Kleve district is equipped with one and a half positions in mobile consumer advice on site and another half position in the state-wide service center of the NRW consumer advice center. Those seeking advice can contact us by telephone 40 hours a week and can also make inquiries online. In addition, there will be information offerings, initial consultations as well as activities and events in all cities and communities in the district.
