Price increase at Vodafone: consumer advocates are planning a class action lawsuit
Since March 2023, Vodafone has been planning to increase prices for Internet connections from May 2023. The Düsseldorf-based company cites the increased energy costs for operating the networks as the reason. This means an increase of 5 euros per month for customers with older DSL and cable landline tariffs, which can lead to additional annual costs of 60 euros. The Federal Association of Consumer Organizations (vzbv) finds this increase unlawful and is therefore planning to take legal action against Vodafone.
The vzbv consumer advocates consider Vodafone's price increases to be inadmissible. You also do not agree with the general terms and conditions that are intended to enable the company's actions. On their website, they are looking for existing customers whose fees are affected by the price increase to pursue a class action lawsuit. The aim is to force Vodafone to continue the contracts at the agreed prices and to reimburse amounts already overpaid.
