Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center: High-quality financial advice in times of inflation and rising energy prices
According to a report by www.n-tv.de, the Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center has identified a continuing high need for advice. This can be attributed to rising inflation and high energy prices, which are particularly difficult for poorer people. Last year, the consumer advice center recorded almost 80,650 consumer contacts, with more than 41,000 questions relating to the topic of energy/heating and around 7,200 to the topic of finance. According to the consumer advice center, people's desperation, frustration and anger have increased significantly and are serving as a breeding ground for extreme political attitudes. For this reason, the consumer advice center strives to strengthen trust in the rule of law and to contribute to curbing extremism.
This year, the Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center has a budget of over six million euros and has almost 60 employees and five advice centers. Due to the crises that primarily affect poor people, the consumer advice center will now go directly to their neighborhoods to help them and let them participate in life again. According to the head of the Kiel advice center, Dorothee Kremer, advising these groups requires more intensive and time-consuming support, especially for consumers who are not very fluent in German and come from low-income households.
These developments can have a significant impact on the market and consumers. Rising inflation and high energy prices can affect consumers' purchasing power and lead to a shift in consumption habits. In addition, government measures to support low-income households may be necessary to reduce the financial burden. This, in turn, could impact the economy and certain industries that rely on consumer spending. Given the ongoing need for advice, the importance of consumer advice centers and supportive measures to overcome financial challenges becomes clear.
