A look at the city cycling initiative
The “City Cycling” campaign motivates people to get excited about cycling and makes a contribution to climate protection. Loud stadtradeln.de The cycling kilometers of Pedelec trips are not recorded separately. Pedelec riders often also use conventional bicycles, which makes recording the distances covered complicated. They often only switch on the electric assistance when going uphill or into headwinds.
In addition, people with and without Pedelecs often cycle together in teams, which makes it difficult to differentiate at the local level. To make participation easier, a new evaluation category is being introduced in which every trip is weighted equally, regardless of the distance traveled. These measures are intended to encourage a broad segment of the population to cycle and thus further support the campaign.
The end of the “City Cycling” campaign in Ochsenhausen not only offers an opportunity for personal encounters and exchange, but also highlights the ongoing efforts to promote sustainable means of transport in the region.
