In a significant realignment, Ammerländer Insurance has announced the 100 percent takeover of Agencio Versicherungsservice AG. This decision brings with it comprehensive changes to the Board of Directors, in particular the early entry of Arend Arends into the management board, who was appointed on June 15, 2025.
Agencio's founder, Holger Koppius, will leave the company on July 31, 2025, underscoring the need for a restructuring of the board. Axel Eilers, CEO of Ammerländer Versicherung, emphasizes the desire for a “smooth transition” and emphasizes that the restructuring will take place as part of the takeover.
Experience and expertise
Arend Arends brings decades of experience in the insurance industry. In the past, he was a board member of NV-Versicherungen and also co-founder and managing director of the “bessergrün” initiative. Through his commitment, he has made a name for himself in the areas of insurance, climate protection and sustainability. He now has the confidence to firmly establish Agencio in the market and takes responsibility for the areas of claims, finance, human resources and legal.
In addition, the application and contract area will be handed over from Gerold Saathoff to Arends, which further consolidates his responsibility within the company. As CEO, Saathoff remains responsible for sales, marketing, product as well as IT, organization and corporate communications.
