Anja Emde takes over the board of the WGV: New course for insurance!

From July 1, 2025, Anja Emde will be a new member of the board of Württembergische Gemeinde-Versicherung a.G. (WGV), WGV-Versicherung AG and WGV-Lebensversicherung AG. She succeeds Ralf Pfeiffer, who will retire on June 30, 2025. This promotion underlines Emde's many years of service to the insurance company, where she previously worked as human resources department director and general representative.

In her new role, Emde will take on a variety of important areas of responsibility. This includes the claims departments for private and municipal customers, contract service and sales for municipal customers as well as product management for this target group. She is also responsible for human resources, contract and performance management for life insurance, money laundering prevention and data protection.

Strategic development and experience

Emde brings extensive experience to the new position as she played a key role in shaping the strategic development of the human resources department. Her commitment is aimed, among other things, at the areas of corporate culture, employee retention and personnel planning. Thanks to these aspects, WGV should continue to be well positioned even in times of change in the insurance industry.

WGV, which has been offering a wide range of insurance solutions since 1921, has established extensive insurance coverage for private and municipal customers throughout Germany thanks to its over 1,200 employees. The company has equity capital of 1.3 billion euros and manages over 6.3 million insurance contracts with a premium volume of more than one billion euros. The WGV Group includes, among others, WGV-Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, WGV-Versicherung AG, WGV Holding AG and WGV-Lebensversicherung AG.

Anja Emde is also appointed as the responsible board member in accordance with Section 4 of the GwG and has been appointed spin-off officer, which further underlines her important role in the company structure. Her promotion is seen as an important step for the future of WGV as she brings fresh perspectives and valuable expertise to the boardroom.
