Diversity Ball 2025: A celebration of diversity in Vienna City Hall!

The 17th Diversity Ball will take place in Vienna City Hall on September 6th under the motto “Together We Rise”. The event promises to be a highlight in the cultural calendar and aims to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Manuela Gamper is the artistic director, while the moderation team consists of Miriam Labus, Markus Freistätter and Amira Awad. Conchita and Vincent Bueno are expected to be the main artists and will delight the guests with impressive performances.

The program presentation took place on Tuesday evening in the Donau Versicherung event hall in Vienna. Around 150 invited guests were present, including the singer PÄM and the GNTM winner 2022 Lou-Anne Gleissenebner, who enriched the event with their presence. Franz Josef Baur, dancing star professional Herby Stanonik and the mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci were also part of the illustrious audience.

Diverse program

A very special highlight of the ball will be the Humana fashion show, where second-hand ball outfits will be presented under the curation of stylist Mio Paternoss. The evening's musical accompaniment will be provided by DJ Mel Merio, who will ensure that the atmosphere remains lively throughout the night. There will also be fixed program items such as the Deaf Beat Club with DJ Anna Ullrich and musical sign karaoke with Pam Eden, who translates into sign language.

Particularly noteworthy is the dark bar, which is curated in collaboration with the WNB Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Here, blind and visually impaired waitresses and waiters will serve drinks in complete darkness, creating a unique experience for guests.

Another highlight is the exhibition “World Unseen”, which combines tactile photographs with relief printing, Braille, audio descriptions and ÖGS videos. The support of ball guides, communication angels and personal assistants ensures that all guests are optimally looked after, regardless of their needs.

Prizes of diversity

The “Diversity Awards” will be presented at the ball, honoring organizations, companies and individuals who are committed to promoting diversity. The gala for the awarding of these prizes is based on the theme “I AM”, which was designed by the artist Sabine Wiedenhofer. The title emphasizes the uniqueness of the individual and the strength of the sentences that begin with “I am.”

These awards are dedicated to the message that everyone has the right to live their identity, without outside influence or judgment. The statue that embodies this concept makes it clear: “I am someone who doesn’t care about the judgments of others.”
