E-scooter driver caught under the influence of drugs without insurance
On the evening of April 22nd, 2024, officers from the Bingen police station stopped a 20-year-old driver of an e-scooter in Bingen-Dromersheim because his vehicle did not have an insurance license plate. It turned out that the driver did not have the necessary insurance. Furthermore, evidence pointed to recent consumption of narcotics. A rapid drug test confirmed consumption of the substance group THC (cannabis). The driver now faces criminal liability for driving without insurance and misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs. These offenses were not the first time that the driver had been caught drunk behind the wheel, which now earned him a fine of 1,500 euros.
