Together against addiction: Fair play in the sports club on June 5th!

Sports clubs are much more than just training facilities; they are important living spaces for community, role models and the transmission of values. In this context, the discussion of addiction prevention plays a central role. Two specialist events on addiction prevention will therefore take place in the region on June 5th and 19th, 2025. The motto of the events is: “Fair play even off the field – dealing with drugs and alcohol in the sports club”.

The event is organized by the Central Saxony District Sports Association (KSB), the Central Saxony Health Department, ARAG Insurance and the addiction counseling centers Blaues Kreuz Mittweida and Diakonie Döbeln. The aim of the initiative is to motivate club members to use addictive substances safely and responsibly and to give them confidence in their actions.

Event details

The seminars take place on the following dates:

• 5. Juni 2025, 17:30 – 20:30 Uhr, Boxhalle des Boxclub Döbeln e. V., Lommatzscher Straße 20.
• 19. Juni 2025, 17:30 – 20:30 Uhr, „Goldener Löwe“ Hainichen.

Both events begin with a professional impulse on the topic: “(Competitive) sport and substance use – do they go together?” A representative of Chemnitzer FC will be present in Döbeln, while in Hainichen the world champion and Olympic champion in speed skating, Karin Enke, as managing director of Gesop gGmbH, will make a contribution. In addition, the addiction counseling centers are planning a specialist lecture that deals with addictive substances, communication strategies and the addiction support system.

A special feature in Hainichen is the explanation of insurance law issues by a representative of ARAG Versicherung in order to provide a comprehensive overview. Both events offer plenty of opportunity for questions and an exchange of ideas among the participants.

Registration and support

The events are financially supported by AOK Plus as part of the health partnership with the Central Saxony district. Registration is required for the event in Döbeln and the deadline is May 26, 2025.
