Gothaer Group records growth at annual press conference

As part of the annual press conference for the 2023 financial year, Group Executive Board member Oliver Schoeller presented Gothaer's performance. The group recorded premium income of 4.9 billion euros, which corresponded to an increase of 7.2 percent compared to the previous year. This represented growth of 6.5 percentage points above the market average. Despite concerns about inflation and recession, the group's equity base was further strengthened in 2023 and now amounts to 1.57 billion euros compared to 1.50 billion euros in the previous year. At 78 million euros, the consolidated annual profit was within the target range of the group strategy.

The growth in the corporate customer segment was particularly positive, increasing by eleven percent and cementing Gothaer as a leading partner for medium-sized businesses. The gross premiums of Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG amounted to around 2.4 billion euros, which corresponds to an increase of twelve percent compared to 2022 and 5.2 percentage points above the market level. The company achieved a record result of 136 million euros in new business, which corresponds to an increase of 44 percent compared to the previous year. The annual surplus of Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG amounts to 25 million euros.

At the end of 2023, the international rating agency Standard & Poor's Global Ratings confirmed the "A" rating for the core companies of the Gothaer Group, including Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG, Gothaer Lebensversicherung AG and Gothaer Krankenversicherung AG, with a stable outlook, despite difficult market conditions.
