HUK Coburg takes over Neodigital: completion in the motor vehicle insurance market!
HUK-Coburg Holding AG has taken a decisive step in the automotive insurance industry by increasing its shares in Neodigital Autoversicherung AG from 51 to 100 percent. This increase will take place in two steps, the first of which has already been completed: HUK-Coburg currently holds 81 percent of the shares. The full acquisition is expected to be completed during 2025. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price, which speaks for transparency in the financial sector.
Since its founding in 2023, as a joint venture between Neodigital Versicherung and HUK-Coburg, Neodigital Autoversicherung has been able to gain over 165,000 insured vehicles. Klaus-Jürgen Heitmann, spokesman for the board of HUK-Coburg, emphasizes the good establishment of Neodigital car insurance in the motor vehicle insurance market. His colleague Markus Imle, CEO of Neodigital Autoversicherung, sees this development as an opportunity to open up new business areas and customer groups.
Strategic significance of the takeover
Taking on Neodigital car insurance is not just a purely financial act; it is also characterized by a strategic realignment. With the full acquisition, HUK-Coburg would like to further consolidate its position in the motor vehicle insurance market. The company also plans to expand its white label capability in collaboration with various cooperation partners, which could lead to a broader market presence.
Parallel to the share takeover, a new joint venture for IT services will be founded, which will be called NDA Tech GmbH. Neodigital Versicherung holds 51 percent of the shares, while Neodigital Autoversicherung holds 49 percent of the shares. Stephen Voss, CEO of Neodigital Versicherung, sees the collaboration with HUK-Coburg as a strategic success and has high expectations for the future development of technological standards in motor vehicle insurance.
Overall, this transaction represents significant progress for HUK-Coburg, which aims to further expand its ambitions in the digital insurance market. By increasing its shares in Neodigital Autoversicherung and founding NDA Tech, the company will not only strengthen its technological base, but will also be able to address new customer groups. Developments in this direction should be followed with great interest.
