Kaufland expands service: now insure directly in the supermarket!

From now on, customers at Kaufland can not only purchase food and non-food products, but also insurance. This new service is aimed particularly at loyal customers, especially Kaufland Card users. The partnership with DA Direkt, a subsidiary of the Zurich Group Germany, enables tailor-made insurance offers for Kaufland customers. This reports derwesten.de.

Kaufland had been providing temporary insurance offers for Kaufland Card users since 2022, but these are now permanently available. Customers can find all information and conclude contracts on the website kaufland-versicherungen.de while the processing takes place directly via DA Direkt.

Insurance offers for loyal customers

At the start of the new services, two types of insurance will be offered: dental insurance and pet insurance. Kaufland plans to expand its insurance offering step by step to meet the needs of its customers. The first experiences with temporary offers have shown that they are well received by customers, as Kaufland emphasizes in a press release.

When a contract is concluded, Kaufland Card users receive shopping vouchers worth up to 30 euros. Specifically, users receive a voucher for 15 euros after paying the first three monthly contributions. They will also receive a second voucher for 15 euros the following year if they provide their Kaufland Card number.

Kaufland not only offers its customers a wide range of groceries, but also has the digital marketplace kaufland.de, where warranty extensions and insurance for e-bikes, smartphones and other devices can be purchased. DA Direkt itself recorded premium income of 343 million euros in 2024 and manages around 1.4 million insurance contracts.
