According to a report by www.procontra-online.de, the analysis company Franke and Bornberg took a close look at the level of performance of motor vehicle insurance on the market. 378 tariffs and tariff variants from 82 insurers were examined. The focus was not only on the prices, but above all on the benefits of the policies.
The study showed that out of 378 tariffs, around a fifth were able to achieve the top rating of “FFF+”. This corresponds to 78 tariffs that achieved high scores in various categories. Overall, around 70 percent of all products examined are in the top three of a total of seven evaluation levels. This shows that most car insurance policies offer a good level of benefits.
During the evaluation, 73 test criteria from 19 different performance categories were taken into account. Criteria related to alternative drives, such as electric and hybrid vehicles, were also increasingly taken into account. This reflects the increasing importance of these vehicle types on the market.
The impact of this assessment on the market could be varied. Insurers with top ratings could gain favor with consumers and strengthen their market position. At the same time, insurers that have not received top ratings could make adjustments to their benefit packages in order to remain competitive.
This analysis provides consumers with important information to make informed decisions when choosing their car insurance. Ultimately, this could lead to increased competition and an improvement in the service offering in the market.
