Franke und Bornberg GmbH has revised its rating of motor vehicle insurance companies and published the updated results. According to the report, around one in five providers achieved the highest grade of “FFF+” and another quarter received the grade “FFF” in the rating. The improvements relate to new services for electric and hybrid vehicles that have been included in the evaluation criteria. This includes costs for condition diagnostics for batteries and storing the vehicle in a water container after an accident. In addition, criteria such as new price compensation, protection in the event of parking damage and disposal of electric vehicles have also been slightly revised in order to create a clear structure.
The quality of the services was assessed based on 73 test criteria. The analysts examined a total of 378 tariffs from 82 providers. Every fifth offer received the highest grade of “FFF+” and only two tariffs received a “poor” rating. It was noticeable that “strikingly few” tariffs performed “satisfactorily” and “astonishingly many” offers only received a “satisfactory” rating.
The providers that have at least one product with the highest rating include ADAC Autoversicherung AG, Allianz Versicherungs-AG, Axa Versicherung AG, and Huk-Coburg-Allgemeine Versicherung AG. Analysts also emphasize that auto insurance prices will rise significantly in 2024, increasing expectations for high-performance rates.
These results show that the automotive insurance market is changing and that providers must strive to adapt to growing expectations. As auto insurance prices rise, demand for high-quality, high-performance plans is expected to increase. Companies must therefore remain innovative and focus on electric and hybrid vehicles and on providing comprehensive protection measures for car owners.
