Majestic royal parade and torchlight magic: Neuss shooting festival inspires!

On August 31, 2025, the citizens of Neuss celebrated this year with great enthusiasm Neuss Citizens' Shooting Festival. The highlight of the festival was the traditional royal parade on the market, where Bert I took center stage as the majesty of the festival. Numerous visitors flocked to the market square, where the stands were already full at the start of the festival.

The shooting festival began on Saturday with a celebratory firecracker, which invited the people of Neuss to celebrate their shooters and the city. In the evening at 8:45 p.m. the town hall traffic lights turned green for the eagerly awaited torchlight procession. Thousands of spectators on the side of the road admired 97 artistically designed large torches, which created a festive atmosphere with impressive motifs. Another highlight of Friday evening was the large fireworks display that marked the start of the fair, which opened on Friday.

Live stream offer for all festival visitors

For those who were unable to witness the festival on site, there was a free streaming offer available Neuss Citizens Rifle Association in collaboration with the Grenadier Platoon “Net kalle – Donn 2020”. On Saturday, the commemoration of the dead, the reveille and the torchlight procession were broadcast live. This gave many viewers the opportunity to watch the action from the comfort of their own home.

Sunday started early and the Royal Parade was broadcast live from 10am. From 11 a.m., André Scheidt from the “Janz Locker” rifle platoon and Eiko Pate from the “Net kalle – Donn 2020” grenadier platoon took over the moderation. Tony Kaufmann, editor-in-chief of NE-WS 89.4, also accompanied the events at the Neuss market, which provided additional information and entertainment.

Overall, the Neusser Bürger-Schützenfest 2025 was an impressive community celebration that harmoniously combined both tradition and modern elements. The city of Neuss once again demonstrated its ability to handle such large events with flying colors and unite its citizens in a festive mood.
