On June 3, 2025, it was announced that Manuela Moog would take over the IT department at DEVK from Michael Knaup. The 54-year-old, who currently works as Chief Information Officer at Baloise Germany, will take up her new position at DEVK on November 1, 2025. This personnel change was decided by the supervisory boards of the DEVK insurance associations, and Knaup will become the new CEO of DEVK in 2026.
Moog brings extensive experience from the insurance industry. Your career path is characterized by a deep engagement with IT topics. She began her career at Colonia Insurance in Cologne, where she completed training as a mathematical-technical assistant in 1992. She then worked at AXA for over 25 years in various management and project management roles. There she rose to division manager and played a crucial role in reorganizing IT at four locations with over 700 employees.
Career path and achievements
In 2018, Moog moved to Zurich Insurance Group, where she was responsible for the IT of the Sach-Huk divisions as division manager. Two years later, she joined Basler Versicherungen Deutschland and initially took over the digitalization program management. In 2022 she finally became IT director (Chief Information Officer) and managed 300 employees there.
In this role, she was responsible for the company's entire IT landscape. Moog is known for promoting agile working methods and agile leadership, which it implements in collaboration with the specialist departments. Until May 2024, she also headed the internal services department, where she played a key role in converting the office space in line with “New Work”. Their goal was to establish a modern and open working environment as well as an innovative corporate culture.

Moog is also passionate about diversity in the workplace. She emphasizes the importance of including different perspectives in decision-making processes in order to develop optimal solutions. She is also married and lives in Cologne.
