New bosses at Cosmos Insurance: Katrin Gruber becomes CEO

New bosses at Cosmos Insurance: Katrin Gruber becomes CEO
On April 26, 2024, Generali Deutschland AG announced an extensive restructuring of the board of directors of Cosmos Lebensversicherung and Cosmos Versicherung. Katrin Gruber will take over the position of CEO for both companies from May 1st, succeeding Uli Rothaufe and Roland Stoffels. These two board members are leaving their previous positions in order to concentrate on the functions “Chief Insurance Officer Life and Health” and “Chief Insurance Officer P&C” on the board of Generali Deutschland AG.
In addition to her role as CEO, Katrin Gruber will also be responsible for the direct insurance business as Chief Business Officer Direct (CBOD) on the board of Generali Deutschland AG. Gruber's senior experience in the insurance industry spans several decades, beginning with her work at Allianz Versicherungs-AG in the late 1980s. She has been part of the Generali Group since 2004 and has held various management positions, including Chief Risk Officer of Generali Germany.
Furthermore, Nicole Heidemeyer will take over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Cosmos Insurance from May 1st. She follows Christoph Gloeckner, who is leaving the company at his own request to pursue new professional challenges. Heidemeyer has been working for Generali for almost two decades and has distinguished himself in various leadership positions within the company.
Another change concerns the newly created board function of Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO), which will be taken over by Petar Dobric at Cosmos Insurance. Dobric has many years of experience in direct sales and marketing and will take on this important position from May 1st. With these restructuring measures, Generali Deutschland AG wants to pool responsibility for the direct insurance business and thus achieve a more efficient structure within the company.
