Bernd Stromberg and his team at Capitol Insurance have been shaping German office culture for over 20 years. The cult series in particular has thrilled numerous viewers and satirically illuminated working life. The success story now continues: A new film called “Stromberg – The New Film” will be released in December. This promises a breath of fresh air into the former everyday office landscape, which many fans have long viewed nostalgically.
As part of the preparations for this release, CINEWORLD Mainfrankenpark is showing “Stromberg – The Film” from 2014 as a start to the open air cinema season. The film screening will take place on Thursday, June 12th at 9:15 p.m. Further performances are on Friday, June 13th at 5:45 p.m., on Sunday, June 15th at 6:10 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 17th at 5:45 p.m.
Story and characters in the new film
The new film takes viewers back to a special occasion: the celebration of Capitol Insurance's 50th anniversary in a country hotel. But the mood is clouded by rumors about possible branch closures and old conflicts. Bernd Stromberg, played by Christoph Maria Herbst, meets his old colleagues, including Berthold “Ernie” Heisterkamp (Bjarne Mädel) and Jennifer Schirrmann (Milena Dreißig).
A central element of the film is a reunion of the characters in front of the cameras. The aim of this meeting is to find out whether the characters and the world of work have changed over time. During the meeting, old conflicts and tensions arise, which ultimately end in unexpected chaos.
