Dual studies are becoming increasingly important in the insurance industry. More and more companies are relying on this model to ensure that young talent is secured and to retain talent at an early stage. Recruiting qualified applicants is challenging due to intense competition. Remuneration, career prospects, corporate culture, location and the variety of study programs play a decisive role here. The study “Dual Studying: Germany's Top Trainers 2025” by the F.A.Z. Institute and ServiceValue identified the most attractive framework conditions for dual study programs in Germany. Over 13,000 organizations from various economic sectors, including the insurance industry, were analyzed.
Methodology of the study
The methodological procedure of the study included a two-stage analysis that took into account both the external perspective and the internal perspective. The outside view was determined through social media monitoring based on 2.5 million online mentions from May 2023 to April 2025. Sources such as news sites, blogs, forums and social networks were included in the evaluation. Topics such as employer attractiveness, corporate culture, career opportunities and dual studies were of central importance.
From an internal perspective, internal training structures and services were analyzed using an online questionnaire. Aspects such as the number and variety of dual study programs, the proportion of dual students as well as remuneration and additional benefits were evaluated. The two partial results resulted in an overall score that recognized the companies with the best conditions for dual study programs.
