Vorarlberg: Horsepower output at a record high – our cars are that powerful!
In Austria there is a clear upward trend in the horsepower of cars. According to current figures, the average horsepower in the federal states is at a new high. This represents a remarkable development in the automotive industry, piquing the interest not only of drivers but also of car manufacturers. The regional differences are particularly noticeable, which become clear when comparing the individual federal states.
The federal states of Salzburg, Vienna and Vorarlberg lead the ranking of the most powerful cars in Austria. Salzburg took the lead with an average horsepower of 129.6 hp, followed by Vienna with 129.1 hp and Vorarlberg with 128.9 hp. These values make it clear that the three federal states are not only quantitatively superior, but also offer attractive vehicles in terms of quality.
Upward trend in horsepower
In contrast, the federal states at the bottom of the ranking, such as Lower Austria with 117.8 hp and Upper Austria with 116.3 hp, have significantly lower values. In 2012, Vienna and Vorarlberg were already at the top, while Carinthia was listed at the bottom with a value of less than 100 hp. The continuous increase in the average horsepower of all federal states is a sign of technological progress and the increasing demands of drivers.
Particularly noteworthy is the increase in Salzburg, which recorded the largest increase of all federal states with an increase of 21.7 percent. But Tyrol also follows closely behind with an increase of 21.5 percent. Other federal states such as Carinthia, Styria and Lower Austria are also showing positive developments, although exact figures are not available. Upper Austria, on the other hand, reported the lowest growth, indicating a stagnating market.
